If you're from the UK and have never ordered with us before, we strongly recommend you read our info page so you know exactly what to expect.
McGeorge is a knitwear maker from Scotland with an incredible history spanning from 1881. They also happen to be the actual creators of the Shawl Cardigan, often worn by actor Steve McQueen, after he commissioned McGeorge to make the piece for him.
This Shawl Cardigan is the same piece commissioned by and worn by Steve McQueen in a now famous photo shoot in California, stood beside McQueens car, and photographed by William Claxton.
This cardigan is in our opinion, the pinnacle of fine knitwear. Made from a 7 gauge and 4 Ply wool and produced in an English Rib, this is a substantial piece of wool weighing in at just over 1.2kg, all put together with impeccable attention to detail.
The hand is incredibly soft as it is made from 90% Fine Wool and 10% Cashmere and the style, faithful to the original yet incredibly flattering. Still made in Scotland today, this is a very special piece.
If you're ordering for the first time with us and you're from the UK, we strongly recommend you read the below information so you know what to expect.

Here's everything you need to know about ordering from us from the UK:
WHERE WE SHIP FROM
We are based in Italy - which means we are shipping to you from the EU into the UK.
PRICES, VAT and DUTIES
The prices you see on our website will usually shown to you in UK Sterling - and these prices are all shown INCLUSIVE OF VAT.
This is the important part - VAT is always paid - it depends on the value of your order - this is a Post Brexit rule.
If your order is UNDER £135, then VAT remains on your order at checkout as we collect it on behalf of HMRC.
If your order value is OVER £135, then once you get to the checkout page, VAT will be TAKEN OFF - and prior to delivery by DHL, they will contact you asking for payment of this VAT, as well as an additional customs handling fee which is usually around £13.
Import duties may or may not be applied by UK customs and it is your responsibility to pay these - otherwise DHL will not deliver your package.
REFUSING DELIVERY
IMPORTANT - We get that Brexit has made everyone's life more complicated, however this information here is intended so you know exactly what to expect BEFORE you place an order. However if you refuse delivery, this will incur a significant cost for us to get the package back - and this cost will be deducted from any eventual refund we make to you.
SHIPPING
Shipping to the UK costs €20 and usually takes between four to seven working days.
RETURNS
Return shipping is not free - you can read in more detail about the return process here.
VAT REFUNDS FOR RETURNS
If you need to return your order to us, we partner with a company that can handle your request to get a refund on the VAT you paid. They take a small commission, but so far our UK customers are very satisfied with this service. We have a special online portal that you can use, and once you receive your refund from us, they'll do the work for you.
